Brook Farm
Experimento utópico de vida comunitaria, de corta duración (1841–47), en West Roxbury, Mass.

(cerca de Boston), fundado por George Ripley. La más conocida de las numerosas comunidades utópicas que se fundaron en EE.UU. a mediados del s. XIX, debía combinar al pensador con el trabajador, con el fin de garantizar la mayor libertad mental y formar una sociedad de personas liberales y cultas, cuyas vidas serían más sanas y sencillas que lo que podrían ser en medio de la presión de instituciones competitivas. Se la recuerda por las destacadas figuras literarias e intelectuales relacionadas con ella, como Charles A. Dana, Nathaniel Hawthorne, Margaret Fuller, Horace Greeley, James Russell Lowell, John Greenleaf Whittier y Ralph Waldo Emerson (aunque no todos ellos fueron miembros). También tuvo notoriedad por la moderna teoría educacional de su excelente escuela. See also comunidad Oneida.
